    Our Mission

    Develop judokas, build character, and represent The Bahamas on the world stage. The Bahamas Judo Federation is a federation of volunteers responsible for the growth and administration of Judo in The Bahamas.

    We are committed to providing opportunities for all Bahamians to experience the physical, mental, and moral benefits of Judo — from grassroots programs to elite international competition.

    Our History

    1990s

    Judo formally introduced to The Bahamas through grassroots efforts.

    2000s

    Bahamas Judo Federation officially established and recognized by IJF.

    2010s

    Bahamian athletes begin competing at Pan American and Commonwealth levels.

    2020s

    BJF expands programs, hosts CARIFTA events, and grows youth development.

    Governance

    The BJF is governed by an elected executive board that serves a four-year term. The federation operates under the guidelines of the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the Bahamas Olympic Committee (BOC).
